January 20, 2026, at 1000hrs, at the Command Building I, Government House, Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat disclosed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul informed the cabinet about his meeting with relevant agencies on the back-to-back construction crane collapses in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Si Khio district and Rama II Road, as well as the road collapse incident also on the Rama II Road. His instructions made at the meeting, on which he expected to be reported on the progress soon, were:

1. The instruction made to Ministry of Transport, the Office of Insurance Commission, and other relevant agencies to provide compensation for the deceased and to cover medical fees for the injured.

2. The instruction made to Ministry of Transport to consider terminating the contract with the construction company responsible for the project and investigate to determine the cause of the incidents and identify those accountable. He emphasized that the contract termination process must be carried out in a prudent manner, yet without delay, as the wait of several more months for the investigation means the risk that similar incidents may occur again.
